Any Day Now

Who would have thought seven years later I'd still be searching for you
And, still barely I make it through one day
I don't walk in this world with a smile that is real
For, the heavens took my entire life away...

Any day now, I keep waiting for those sweet birds to sing
Dad, how awesome they will sing in your name
They'll sing your melody of loving us when you were here on earth
So, any day now, I wait for the welcome change...

I don't want to sleep beneath the moon if you aren't there, too
And, I don't want to live alone beneath this sky
Dad, I'm lost to the moment and hour that you had to leave
For, my memories are the only connection between you and I...

I just have to believe any day now you will be home
For, I breathe nothing but wanting our family again
You've touched the hearts beyond what an angel could do
My every day, all day prayer, for my any day now to begin...

I don't know if I can walk the same road you used to
And, find myself happy that I followed you there
I should be grateful I moved along in your shadow, Dad
But, I die a little more when I'm faced with you everywhere...

There isn't a place I don't see your sweet silhouette at my side
And, wishing I had more time to hold a little longer to you
And, so what if I die, all I do is cry
Just ask God, for me, to come get me, too...

Have you ever known the color grey when the nighttime finds you weak
I have, I've walked that road each time; that's where my angel sleeps

Oh, this aches tremendously.  Very vivid write with phenominal description.  Somehow, we have to find the strength to go on.  I know it isn't easy, but we have to try.  Powerful write.

All writing comes
by the grace of God.

Loving and longingly sad~
His memories are beautifully recalled in the shadows of your thoughts.

I don't long to have my Dad back on earth, but certainly miss him. I hope your pain will also fade.
