                       holding

what it feels like

is to combine
breathholding
with sun’s heat
flickering cosmic
radiation
over skin

that tingling sense
of agitation
that causes one to
brush away non-existent
gnats

the gut-wrench
remaining of
recalled fears
after having
swallowed a
fly

you only hope
it will
pass through

~*~

                       sorting

it begs release, this feeling,
I stand
willingly alone
thinking I am strong enough
to recognize
my failures,
wondering at my tenacity
to hold on
to ways that should be
shed

even in my turnings
I shy
away from burnings
I find
no one here, as this
is of my own
accord, but not
anxious to rid myself of
me, only thought
processes that brought me

here, so
perhaps I need to
wonder if last night’s
lack of sleep
is telling me I
deprived myself of
something yet again or am I
simply being a figment

of my own imagination
but in
that turning of corners
not even I want
to imagine something this
inescapable as it is
unpalatable to think
I did it to me

for I would not
have done it
to you

~*~

                         discarding

finding what is
key

and what is trash

I find

I am my key

and you?

let’s just say it’s good
today is Monday

Ouch! sounds like hard emotional feelings wrapped around a lot of resentment...

nicely written...and well told...

I enjoy the talent it shows...but am sorry for the feelings that seemingly inspired it.

I hate being an echo so often, but I just don't think I can respond any more succinctly than Cpat, so I'll echo his words.

What a tremendously introspective piece.  I applaud this.  Wonderful work!

you are key and lock
all else is trash and garbage
put it on the curb
experts will haul it away
determine your destiny
