Black dog
that tracks relentlessly
the tired heart in my chest,
will you not allow a rest?
Respite from the ceaseless
baying of insecurities?

What hounds man released you
to run in never ending circles
through my life?

What crime or sin did
I commit to deserve being
Dragged into the dark pits of hell
With you on my heels...

Always nipping...

Always gnawing...

Always there...

Life's a dog, and then you cry...  but only for a little bit.  Now, if we could only train it to keep running after we've thrown it a stick...  Nice metaphors, Ron.

This is great.  It gives a glimpse into the darkness, but does not drag us to the bottom of its pit.

Well done, Ron.  Yes depression is always there ... until it leaves.

Yes, it seems like a growling chasing dog sometimes. But hopefully, he will go and leave you in peace soon.

Good job of describing depression. The dogs are relentless until tamed.

Do not fear going forward slowly,
Fear only standing still.

Ah but when are the dogs ever tamed? I feel they are more sedated than anything else.

Anyway, a good solid piece. You write how I feel and it is refreshing to read believe it or not.

Thanks for posting this.
