~*Silence Calms The Soul*~

Summer on my porch.
Pampered red geraniums,
Smiling up at me.

Bumblebees at work,
Collecting honey’s nectar,
Mesmerizing sound.

Even the cat purrs,
In this silent contentment.
Stretching in the sun.

On this mountain green,
Ski divers float in soft clouds,
Drifting in the breeze.

Hikers forge a path,
Striving to reach summit’s top,
Dotting the mountain.

Cotton candy clouds,
Drift overhead with faces…
A bear, a dragon.

Cedars gently sway.
The air is of fresh cut grass,
Wild lupines, sweet peas.

Ocean behind me,
Laps softly against the shore,
Salt sprinkles the air.

Sun bronzes my skin.
As I calm in this stillness,
A sigh escapes me.

I count my blessings,
As nature colors my world,
For she makes me smile.

A warm summer day,
Sitting alone on my porch,
I smile in this peace.

I wish everyone,
Could feel such serenity,
Silence calms the soul.

Sharon-
These are so soft and lovely...some
of the most beautiful I've ever read.
So peaceful is the feeling this gives,
that I think I may need to take a
little nap now.. ...truly calming, my friend.
The music is perfect as well.

   love and gentle hugs,
   ~vicky

Perfect! Each haiku/stanza/verse complements the other making a beautiful unified whole. You paint so well with your words; I can just close my eyes and "see" everything you described here. Well done!

Mysteria you've never been to my place, then how could you describe it so well. Not quite though, no mountains here, just flat countryside

WOW 12 beauties in a row, thank you.

Titia

P.S. Where ever did you find such lovely smilies???

Titia: By the pictures you sent - yes we have about the same corner of serenity (minus the mountais), thank you for reading these.

CPhat: Well...I think they look lonesome just three lines on a page and I tend to ramble, so voila!  Thanks for reading.
