The Great Big Ball

By Peter Livingstone

The ground beneath lies silent and still
We dig in it holes, only again to fill
It takes upon many different looks
Nature's wonders fill tourist books
As we walk around our chosen land
We walk on rocks and soil and sand
You cannot help but feel quite small
When you think of the ground as a great big ball
It is all we have upon to live
To the next generation all we have to give
So lets take care of this precious ground
Let the trees grow tall and creatures abound
We can find a way to meet the needs
Of modern life and corporate greeds
Only if we act together
Can we change the course of things forever
Not with violence, not with preaching
Just simple actions and simple teaching
One little action by us all
And we can protect the great big ball.

Salutations and good tidings, Peter.  Wonderful message in your poem and realistic, one person at a time.  Look forward to more works from you.

Peter,
Welcome!
A great start with this poem.
Lets hope we can preserve the gift of nature we have been given.
