Bed Un-Rest

I really wish you understood
it's not those little amber bottles
with the reality numbing contents
that I need

I don't care about the pain today
It's just a fraction of what I'm feeling
I know  you can't see it, so you don't
believe
But really,  those white coated so called
"pain killers" will not stop this ache

It's just one of those nights, when I light
the candles, curl myself up in the blanket
hold my memories close to my chest and
listen to Russell Watson, belt out another
one of our favorite songs

Maybe take a trip over that Bridge, you know
the one I'm talking about, where the waters
below will carry all our troubles away
Or  maybe I'll let Andrea sing Ava Maria for
me and it will be then, that I cry

Cry for all those times, I couldn't
or wouldn't. I never remember that's my favorite
song until I hear it, I wonder why that is
It reminds me of when I was happy, scared and
about to become a woman

Ah, yes, that's why, because it reminds of then,
when White was the color and blood was the
price, when the tears stopped and prayers were
lost in the muffled pleas....

Wait, this isn't where I wanted to be, not in
that moment ... not in that time....
Maybe you're right after all, I am rather tired
and the pain is worse now
What's one more day lost ... in amber

How sad!! I should hope one would never so willingly surrender to pain and a haze of amber.  Hope and faith and the promise of better days should put strength in your heart and spirit. A lovely poem, I only hope such desolate days are rare.

May Today there be peace within you.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.

it's another day lost...today is a gift, that's why they call it the present

a present is of no use until it is unwrapped

Ouch... now that is painful...

nicely written and well presented... but disturbing in the pain conveyed and the resolutions...

if it is personal.. my thoughts and wishes are for you...
