Out
Virginia Salter

Out
to enjoy music, sunshine,
a lovely evening
...it happens
one of your favorite songs
begins
fills the air
wafts on the breeze

....tenderness
gently caresses my heart
delicately reminds me
you’re gone
you’re not here
to hear, with me
not here to smile
ear to ear
with joy
that he’s singing your song

is it possible
your heaven is filled
with all the things
you loved?
may it be so.

I am sure that heaven holds still your heart and your love, but we are all here for you and happy to listen to the music of your heart and the magic of your poetry.

Nice piece of work.

I dare not dream of what heaven may hold, I'm still trying to find my way out of this damn handbasket I'm in   In all seriousness I loved your poem, beautiful words, sincere thoughts.  Thanks for sharing.

The power of music may be second only to that of Love, but when you combine the two of them, and add some words for flavoring and a touch of memories -- then you have a recipe for soul-food.  I can relate to your sentiments here, Virginia, though under different circumstances.

I'll bet the angels are singing your tune because love is something that stirs even the highest in our lifes.

Do not fear going forward slowly,
Fear only standing still.
