I’ll walk with you my dear today and every other day
We may fall at times and cry, but let it come what may
I’ll take your hand in mine my dear, for warmth it gives my heart
I’ll sleep beside you now my love, lest none tear us apart

With you the roads seem smoother now, our shelter now a home
And days they seem much brighter now, that I am not alone
You’ve given me the smile I lost, of which I thought had gone
My heart the strength to love again, and once again belong

You’ve shared with me your inner self, the core of who you are
You’ve shown me what a day can bring and sunsets from afar
You’ve given me foundations to build on and expand
A life of hopes and many dreams and somewhere sweet to land

I thank you; change not who you are, forever or a day
Be my beacon shining bright to guide me on my way
Be my love, my wanting, my friend and all I need
Be the green grass always sweet, on which I always feed

a lovely write, but please do remember, people change...and we have to grow with it...

oftentimes, you might end up in glow with it....

well done Rick...you left another smile...

Beautiful cadence and rhyme Rick, and such heart-warming sentiments. This was just lovely, very much enjoyed your thoughts in this.

Best wishes,

Compassionate and loving -- two very good qualities to express to others.  Nicely written, Rick.

Thank you Sandra for your special words and also the ones from you Mark, they mean the world to me. A poem is nothing unless shared and fulfilment never gained unless the work with life compared.

Thank you both.

Rick
