I felt the rain today
as though it was a first,
something fresh and silent
in an afterglow effect.
It came to me as a child
born in a time long forgotten
when pen once meet paper
stained with the oils of fingers.
I felt the rain today,
and new the tears that flowed
where for the pleasures lost
of those words not written.
Of angels that came one day
to gather the poet from his grip
on an earth going at speed
seemingly unaware of the time.
Of days that trickled by us
leaving the scars of living
on our souls and eyes
to make us firm and sometimes pathetic.
While we watch the sun dip again
behind the grandier of the sea
that blesses us with a silent
twist of beauty everyday.
I felt the rain today,
and felt the angels tears
for another writer had gone
to a place we only write about.
To a peace long ago forgotten
as children drop their toys,
I wonder we will ever re-read
those magical lines again.
I felt the rain today,
but then it was sunny now
and I realized that the rain
were my own tears falling.

MichaelG~
This is such a moving remembrance of Bill.

'I felt the rain today,
and felt the angels tears
for another writer had gone
to a place we only write about'

Today I re-read the e-mails I had from him
and found comfort in his words.

Thank you for remembering~

This is so wonderful that I can't resist putting it back up for those who didn't get a chance to read this incredible tribute the first time round.
