The Shores of Alone

0 posted 2001-07-13 10:19 PM

She gathered bits of roots and seeds
and mixed the formula with hope
a dash of water, and twas done
uncertainty was out of scope.

Looking askance she drank it down
and spoke the words to call unto
her lover who would soon arrive
and prove the wizard to be true.

She waited patiently all day
and rather far into the night
she held her head up high and knew
that soon he'd be within her sight.

The new day dawned, she was alone
yet something in her heart had changed
she felt a warmth grow ever bright
as former life was rearranged.

For potions work in many ways
and this one did as it was meant
to give her hope, renew her dreams
the reason the old man was sent..

Yes very important to have hopes and dreams...sometimes its hard to let go of the old ones that don't work out as we wish and make the transition to the new ones....James

A refreshing twist of fate.  I like the original approach here.  Luckily, the old man had good motives!
