I dedicate this poem to a true Angel, my good friend Antonella, I hope she never fly's away.

Angel In Flight
by White Knight

Fear,
Darkness,
No light.
Deepest part of night.

Quiet,
No sound.
I could see nothing around.

Loneliness,
Despair,
Gasping for air.

All is lost,
Gone,
Doomed,
Empty black room.

A scent wafts upon the air,
A scent from heaven,
Up there

That scent,
I know it well,
Hope it gives

Mint,
And flowers in bloom,
That wonderful scent,
When you enter the room.

I listen,
I hope,
I pray,
I hear a soft flutter,
The flutter of angel wings afar.

I turn toward the sound,
I run in the darkness,
I trip on the ground,
And fall down.

I look up,
Searching,
Searching all around,
While I stumble off the ground.

Faintly,
I see a distant light,
Fluttering in the night.

Heart thumping in my chest,
I hope upon hope,
That I will see the rest,

Cautiously I step forth,
Hoping what I see is real.
Before her now,
I kneel.

The angel fly's around me,
To see if I am for real.
I am awestruck by her beauty.
I look into her eyes,
I fall deeply inside,
Lost in the wonders of the angel.

As she turns away,
I know she knows me now,
Knows who I really am.
She smiles,
The darkness slips away.

She flitters off,
My angel in the night.
I watch until she is out of sight.

I wonder was it all a dream,
Was she real,
As it seemed?

Then I  smell the scent of mint,
And I know,
She was there.

This is extremely lovely, nice, delicate and tender.  She is surely enamored by your loving words.

The smell of mint....

warm fresh bread, and/or the scent of Old Spice, bring two wonderful angels to me...

it is amazing what senses can bring to one...

enjoyed!  Thank you!

angels are always there. . . and it's good that you have yours. . .

well done. . . I liked the way that it flowed onto the page. . . like being in a dream. . . as all angels should be. . .
