desert ratting

yuccas
point to
flowering recall

dry air
filling
recesses,

while this mind,
sand grit barren,

still carries
blood red sunrises

swiftly dispersing
to

royal
sets of purpling gold

needing to
remember

that scorpion
and tarantula
seek the
dark

and to remain
wary
of where
to place

my boots

my muse is having fun with my head, today....Thank You, Muse....

Well tell your muse to be careful... we don't want your head all rattled and shook up.. if Muse is going to play..must play nicely..

Enjoyed the poem!!!

enjoyed, this, and the heat here in my room coupled with it makes me hear the clicking sounds of the desert...some kind of flying creatures and almost sounds like it's sizzling in the heat.

does anyone know what creature is making that sound?  or is it maybe the sound of rattles in the distance......ooooooh, I'm spooking myself, but, Deca, YOU started it!

It's not so much where you place your boots as whether or not you remember to check them before putting them on in the morning. Smiles. PS B+.

Ha, this has a cute ending. Confession-I do NOT like the desert. Hot, buggy, and no comforts of home. But you described it well.

Eeek! Great imagery, but to a little mountain gal, that sounds dangerous with those yucky spiders.
