Summer’s Lovely Grace
Virginia Salter

world says
need work
world says
need money

when world invades
my thoughts of peace
I try to find
some sweet release

I write, I walk
I read, I rest
oh, why do I
love all this best?

fear can tickle
with pain and dread
it can mess up
all my head

so why do I
find so much joy
while I play
when lack employ

sometimes it feels
like it’s to be
that I should find
sweet rest in Thee

but life goes on
and it brings bills
what shall I do
when mailbox spills

such a conundrum
I do face
when living summer’s
lovely grace

Vas
I liked this...sometimes it is hard to enjoy life when so many other things get in the way...

thanks, Ron, they just hit periodically cuz I enjoy the resting stuff so much

but 'reality' keeps invading my thoughts, sub-teachers don't get a lot of work in the summer

I've signed up for temp work and casual labor but I find it extremely difficult to stay off the internet to keep the line open when I don't have any belief the phone will ring anyway

and I love this activity and writing too much, and the walking and reading I do, too

ah me, no work ethic involves much of my body and mind

Very cute verse, Virginia.  Those pesky bills never seem to take a vacation!!
