We've never dined by candlelight's glow
With the music soft and the champagne cold
But we've laughed together, sometimes shed a tear -
Every day that passes, you become more dear.

I've never found bouquets at my door
With your name on the card, but you've given more
Sweetness to my life than flower's finest perfume -
You give my life sunshine when you walk in the room.

I've never slept held close in your arms
But your hugs have managed to keep me warm
Through many a long and lonely night.
In my mind, you're every day's first sight.

I've seen mountain majesties, Hawaiian sunsets
But when I think of scenery as good as it gets
I think of your face breaking into a smile
Whether ear-to-ear grin or filled with guile.

No matter where our paths may lead
Having you in my life fulfills a need
And a reason for me to wake each day
Though the love I feel isn't something I say.

Thank you, my friend, for being who you are
In this rotten world, you're a shining star
Of goodness and caring, kindness and love.
Every night I thank the Father above

For the joy of knowing you, being your friend.
If I live ten decades, until the very end
I'll be looking for you, reaching for your hand
Knowing words aren't needed - you understand.

SweetSutherGal~
To have a friend who brings us such joy - is joy itself~

I'm betting my bottom dollar that you give friendship, as good as you get it~
so there are a couple of very fortunate people here indeed ~

You're just the most sincere person~
That's a BIG 10-4 in my book ! !

Love n' hugs n' stuff~

Thank you all so very much for your wonderful replies... I'm truly overwhelmed and very grateful. And I promise to express my thanks to you better (or at least longer *G*) later... but I just slashed open one of my fingers (who said it was safe in an office? LOL) and typing is difficult. Bear with me. *S*

You've captured such beautiful and tender sentiments Suthern. If we all had a friend who meant as much to us as these lovely words described ... we would each be rich in blessings indeed. I really enjoyed your thoughts in this.

Best wishes,
/Kit

Suthern ~ Treasure this friend, as I lost one this year like that, and never let that go.  I am lucky to have made a new one that will help the loss I am feeling but never will anyone replace a "special" friend like one who "understands" without words.  This was fantastic, and how lucky you both are.

To see real beauty ~ being blindfolded helps!   ~* Mysteria *~

It is with sincere hopes that I don't accidentally bump this back up as I give my belated thanks. I apologize profusely for the long delay. *S*
