Alone, she sits by the blue screen,
with finger poised on the switch...
Her mind is in a world,
so far from her own...
She prays for the fastest connection,
without any unforseen glitch...
She dreams of the far-away place,
soon that she will call home...

One morning she opened a message,
as the yellow light flashed on the bar...
And that was the day Lady Fate
put her life into place...
He had found her, said he had been guided,
from a place that was so very far,
seemed to her like a planet,
in some distant far away space...

Weeks went by and they chatted,
telling secrets and sharing their days...
And she felt like  a girl, young and tender,
and somehow brand new...
She also felt something growing,
taking over the cold empty place...
One morning he told her he loved her,
and that’s when she knew...

She had finally found her true soul-mate...
He had finally found his true love...
And all of the obstacles never could
stand in their way...
For once their hearts met,  it was pure fate...
But it was gentle and soft as a dove...
A gift to be cherished and nurtured,
throughout all their days...

Her heart skipped a beat when he asked her,
to share all he had in his life...
To love and to laugh,
and to never be lonely, again...
And if she said yes, ever after...
She would stand by his side as his wife...
So, across all the miles, she reached out,
and she gave him her hand...

She knew that it wouldn’t be easy,
to learn how to live in his world...
But she would face hell and it’s fury,
to go to his side...
So, each passing day brought her closer...
To the wind all her cautions were hurled...
‘Twas her great adventure in life,
to be his email-order bride!

The road goes on forever, and the stories never end...

I have a cousin who married a woman from Russia, they met through e-mail and are blissfully happy. He lives in Massachusetts and she does too now!  People scoffed, said it was dangerous, wouldn't work, foolish but you know something?  They love one another and I loved reading this, I'm going to send it to them!  Thank you, Sunny.

very nice story, is it really a personal one? all here seem to think so, but I feel I don't know enough to make that assumption.

Well...as a writer I can't give away the mystery, but I will say that these things happen in real life every day, and most that I have seen have happy endings.  Thank you!!

~~~ Paula ~~~
Yes, I do agree, my twin...this is an era of connections, that otherwise wouldn't be, except for the Internet.  How lucky we are to be able to touch each other around the world!!!  Thank you so much!!!
