Snow Dragons..... part IV

The Reckoning

An apprehensive glance, aghast at the apparition of love's lost past
Wife lay before him, dying, shedding Dragons tears, uttering naught a sound
Essence of life leaches out, uninterrupted, crimson stain o'er chaste white land
One last tear escapes from hollowed eye, and shatters, deafening upon the ground

A familiar cry reached out across time, piercing the uneasy moment,
An anguished call, a desperate plea for the life of an unborn child
A soul torn, chilled to the core by such a painful, sorrow filled echo
Elapsed memories again revived, harsh light reveals recollections vile

Incapable of comprehending such despair yet again, he shuns the vision
And as tears trace across weathered facade, plunges upon that deadly blade
Laid down side by side, dying eyes locked as one, their spirits freed
Lost souls rejoice, joined again in precious release, the price was paid

The heavens opened, the earth did quieten, a blanket pallid in deathly silence
As if by miracle of light, a searing warmth banished forth the frigid air
Such a scene as now beheld, known to be unheard off across all the lands
Left little doubt the Gods had played a hand, mere mortals left without a care

"Friends are quiet angels who lift us to our
feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly." ~unknown

full of imagery, I've not read the 1st 3 of this, however, so I've come in in the middle of the movie

Eagle One, I guess this means the saga is over..... I wonder if the movie will have more chapters?  I loved the story you have shared with us.  Beautiful ending.  Take care,  ME

Hi Eddie, to think I nearly missed this one! Lucky I did a search to see what you have been up to
Great finale. Now I think I will have to put them all together so I can read the full story.
