Would You Still Be A Poet ?
~*Marge Tindal*~

If you had not a drop of ink
to quill across the page
Would you still be a poet
as words within you raged

Wouldn't you wish to share
the thoughts held in your mind
Penning them to another
who would such pleasures find

As like the tree that in the forest falls
our words must make a sound
Reverberating quill of air
speaking poetic voice now found

Keep not your verse in silence
share the gift with which you're blessed
Find the ink to spread your thoughts
so they may to your living attest

Quill with thrill your thoughts
that they may find release
Spill your think in profusion of ink
Let your words never cease

Perhaps another may be seeking
exactly what your heart is speaking

~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~

I might only hope of note
that someone feels of what I wrote
as I feel for the read of you
in all you say, your dreams, too

but if I only please, then, me
why, it is worth it, don't you see?

psst, Marge!  Congrats!

Interesting... I wrote verse in my head and shared with no one for a number of years. I would think of a phrase, and build on it, or an image and try to describe it..keeping it in my head until I was satisfied, then forget it...never writing them down. So I guess I would be a poet even if no one had eyes to read or ears to hear...it is just part of how I think...and what I am...

I enjoyed the verse... and while my ramblings are not to your point exactly...your poem made me think of them..

thank you

Many times Marge, I have found what I
was seeking in the words of others.  Much
wisdom is to be found here at passions, and your words I have enjoyed much today.  This was wonderful.  Hugs

To think that my hand is connected to my mind and my thoughts are revealed on paper..... to express my living to others, it is wonderful no matter how imaginary my ideas may be.  I'll keep trying, but there's alot of empty space between here and there.... gives much inspiration to write and to write more.

Ahhhh  dear poet of many muses....
I need this one today...for the words they rage..but still they dont make it to the page...
(moody dang muse)
I love the premise of this one.... so clever.

and while I know why Sun is whispering...
I shall NOT....( Im not known for my subtlety)

Congrats on 18,000!!!!!!!!!
YOU DESERVE the reverie...
YOUR REPLIES speak for themselves...
they are always sincere, encouraging, and filled with both a love and respect for poetry and your fellow poets.

Its NOT about the numbers...its about the number of people you touch

Thank you for the MANY times you've touched me
me

Feels like Im dancing with truth and wisdom
Precious rhythm you are my guide
These days are sacred, my heart is humble
Oh warrior show me the light

Well congratulations poet girlfriend!  Now, my theory is that you don't do the poetry - it does you, how about that theory?  You never run out because you are never filled up, and the day you are is the day I will be really worried.

The last two lines says it all Marge, and you are continually sending out heartfelt messages hidden in your poetry that make people think, take inventory, or get in touch with their inner self.  So, to you my dear friend, here are to 8,000 more, and many more words coming through you from the many muses of Marge.  Hey, there's a poem in that somewhere right?  Hugs to you sweet lady.  And...in answer to your question, yes I would still be "poetic", but I won't ever be a poet, and that is okay too.

This is a beauty, Marge... It flows with grace of rhythm and tenderness of rhyme... and it asks questions I had a hard time answering for many, many years. *S* Cause yassee... I wrote for decades without sharing... the words were there, the drive to write was there... but never once did I refer to myself as a poet. It was only after Toerag came into my life that my poems became more than a deep, dark secret. I never spared that poor man anything. LOL. And he... and later Long John... cajoled and cussed, begged and browbeat until I started posting regularly. (Okay... so my idea of regular poem posting is once a month... and many people probably wish Toe and LJA had left me leashed! LOL) And then one day, I startled myself by referring to myself as a poet. So, in my case, the words didn't become poems until the silence was broken. *S*

Let your words never cease

----------------------------

I hope your words never cease, dear lady... for so many times, you've spoken straight to my heart.

CONGRATULATIONS on 18,000!!

I thank you for each memorable poem that's part of that number, for the encouraging responses you share so generously... and especially for the kindness you've shown me. Write on! *S*

The question that comes to mind for me is, Would one have a choice? Somehow I think not. Congratulations my friend, and I agree with Janet, it's about the number of people you touch. Take care!

Marge, I guess this is quite a milestone. Congrats. And yes, I would still be a poet. You know, I always wrote in my mind, and only occasionally scribbled it out on paper. NO ONE ever saw it, until Passions. So I am so grateful that all of you have allowed me to share my pent up words. And the last 2 lines you write here, I believe are very true. So often do I sit here feeling like the only one on earth with such a situation, and then-poof-someone writes about the very thing.
Wonderful poem.
