Comes night's enshroud of light of day,
In solemn silence as I lay,
Beside a gentle flowing stream,
Enraptured in night's pulsing dream.

In the distance, whippoorwill,
Sings forth from hedge, hear if you will,
Secrets of declining day,
Secrets by dark hushed away.

Soft sapphire's of the Milky Way,
Light memories of fallen day,
Welkin's mysteries now espied,
As light to darkness now doth glide.

Fathomless, now comes the night,
Resigns the day, to heaven's light.

Mike - I can't write anymore than what has already been said about this writing, except that it is most beautiful and touching...

I sure enjoy these trips across the Mikey Way !

You write such lovely, flowing thoughts.
Well done, poet.
