I'm going to have to give you up Go into Rehab, a clinic Detox, cleanse myself of Your corruption. I'm going to cut all ties I'm leaving my dealer Your phone number That gave me my hit. Maybe I'll be clean You give me bliss Before making me sick Tapping a vein. I'm going cold turkey For a while, I'll be Curled up like a baby Helpless, needing you. I might get a mild substitute Just to take my mind off you I won't love it But it'll dull the craving. I'm going to abandon you No more memories No more giving in I'll be clean and pure. I know, I've been down this road with Life Support Machines on the subject of dependance.... this is it's non-rhyming, non-scanning counterpart! Just a little rant... In the beginning, the Universe was made. This has angered a lot of people and has been widely regarded as a bad move- Douglas Adams |

the metaphor works well, like all of your poems I have read this works really well and I enjoyed it alot, sorry if that is a bit general but I am crap at commenting on others poetry, anyway am becoming a fan of here! |

I worte it in the context of a relationship, but it has a lot of different interpretations. To be honest, I think most people find this stuff confusing!
