in the pouring rain

i am down on my hands and knees
asking for something special
a life surpassed and treasured
for a very good friend of mine

knowing that it is true
that everything must leave
give this life more time to shine
let it get better with years

please give me a sign that you will
at least think about my question
and give this life one more chance
at staying on this earth
