Weaved my mistakes into a basket with holes
Releasing river of dreams searching endlessly for an ocean, I’m lost please
Mountain edges of lies, all I could have said, still unknown
Intense beauty without pain relief.
Memories full of laughter
Across dark waters, somewhere in the Here After
Among lost children’s chatter
Followed my regret to rooms without floors
Entered my sorrow through broken doors
I can’t exit my mind; I just want a view through a window.
Fell out of love without a parachute
Freefalling in open arms of the sky, all the years I’ve crashed through.
Pile my words away somewhere safe
Separate them in a wide-open space
They only long to be accepted in a deeper place.
Pictures in words, emotions I draw
A rainbow imprisoned within the thunder of a waterfall.
Monsoon of the soul
The eye of the storm watches, it knows
All I ever dreamed
All I never seen
All I’ll forever bleed.
Shallow waters of my heart drown in tears from the deep lakes of my mind
Stabbed my own good intentions with wasted time.
Sometimes here, always there, forever far off somewhere,
Promises in the wind, prayers in the dark, watering eyes bedside in a hospital holding everything they can’t even bare,
All that they’ll never share.
Thoughts never said
Years that fed all regret
Feelings without words and what they all meant.
I know, now, what haunts me
Poison of my own mind, unrelenting
Captured these thoughts on paper, prisoners in words, the meaning escaping
This Blue Rose grew in my garden of regret, have it please
No flowers blossom here except this, blooming in a rainy breeze
Growing from every single memory
I’ll lay it here with you, in your garden bed, while it’s still sprinkling
For hugs I never gave, all my tears still straining.
Everything breaking deep inside
With a Blue Rose in your hair meet me there, just smile, in the darkness I’ll watch it shine,
The tears finally fall from my face, my absent strength they’ll never find
They all know,
I already miss you all the time.

Well done!

--Beth

Howl at the stars, whisper when you're sleeping, I'll be there to hold you, I'll be there to stop the chills and all the weeping.
