ANGEL

Grandma,
It's been a long time
I know you had a good reason to leave,
But I still wish you never left me
You raised me when I was young
You fed me my food,
You took me to school,
And you spoiled me
You always loved that last one
When I was crying, you were there
When I wasn't crying, It's because you were there
At night I often think of you
I wonder what you’re up to
But most of all I say to myself
I have not only lost a loved one,
But I have also gained an angel

Interesting... I like the last two lines... your style is very unique... I can't get over it.

The wording there,

I have not only lost a loved one,
But I have also gained an angel

I think I see what you're trying to do by wording it like that... you're trying to bring emphasis to the connectedness of the two states, of loss of a loved one, and gaining of "an angel?"  I'm not sure, correct me if I'm wrong.

Very cool way to think about it.  It's true, we often think about losing someone we loved and get sad, but we don't think about how they will always be able to see us and watch over us.  Good poem.

If someboy laughs at me, does that make me funny or just plain stupid?
