I’m mad that I can’t change everything in a day.

I’m mad that people are so damn pretentious, ignorantly naïve and enraptured by stupidity.

I'm mad because most of the poetry on open poetry is [edited].
including my own seemingly blinded perspective on love, or people trying to get [edited] from me

I’m mad that the truth is denied.

I’m mad that billions!!!!!! suffer daily, and have since fear began.

I’m mad that I’ve died, in some form or another.

I’m mad that hope is so elusive.

I’m mad that nobody cares sometimes.

I’m mad at myself for glossing over my emotions, and being a blithering idiot.

I’m mad that I’m eighteen.

I’m mad because I messed up my past, making my future an occasional hell.

I’m mad at America for being fake.

I’m mad at the phoniness of everything.

I’m mad because I don’t express myself all the time.

I’m mad that the system is so criminal, and innocence is destroyed.

I'm mad that I have to drive a car.

I'm mad that I have to grow up.

I'm mad at the mostly white male Europeans for destroying the planet.

I'm mad that few people are truly honest with each other.

I'm mad because if everyone told the truth, the world could be saved.

the end

I disagree- if everyone told the truth...so many would be crushed and hurt. Lies are OK on ocassion. But certainly not usually the best way to go. I do agree that most of those things are frustrating; but if you live your life mad at the world all the time..then you might as well just stay home for the rest of your life. You have to compromise sometimes.

Interesting thoughts here

Jenn

Why is it that we are at our most ingenius only when trying to destroy the things that keep us alive and thriving?

and after their egos were "crushed and hurt", they would change, and GROW as a person.  I'm Not actually mad at the world ALL THE TIME, I have JOY, and happiness, and love, but i do get really angry at the events of this planet sometimes.  Even though I'm angry, I understand that in order for anything to change, I have to REALIZE the compassion I feel, express this ENERGY that is there, in whatever way I can.

Sernity prayer from A.A.

Grant me the power to change the
things I can change
To accept the things I can't
change
And the wisdom to know
the differance

Not a judgement just gentle advice.

Goldsparkless,

I like the (righteous) anger in this piece -- but I think the poem would be better if you focused on one subject that made you angry, and really explore that deeply. Right now, this is like a shopping list of offenses done to yr person and the world, and while it makes for interesting invective, it still needs a little bit of a push to enter the realm of poetry.

Keep goin'! I bet the results will be worth it.

Oh, and the title should read Frustration at its finest, right?
