Three Little Words

The three little words,
I spoke for you today,

The ones that were reserve
For some future date,

I felt anxious and fled,
Not realizing how much I cared,

I decided to give you a call,
And let you know it was ok after all,

The words left my lips without hesitation,
Your ears heard them with disbelief,

So I mention them not again,
Until you recalled,

When you said you love me,
I did not believe,

But as I spoke those same words-
Your lips began to parse-

I could tell that you wanted to hear,
This words you felt would never appear,

So I say it to you again my love-
My love for you is growing strong-

Just don't get me wrong-
When I don’t say the words,

Which I speak through my soul,
You and I are meant to be here,

Together in the present,
Loving each other-

While we continue to care-
No flower shall wither,

And I will speak them again,
When counting every sand grain.
