Through the tears,
and though the haze-
I understand,
we need some space.

A beautiful heart-
beating only for mine.
And all this I know-
it's not the right time.

I'm not ready for love,
not ready for your graces.
Still wanting to see-
those unfamiliar places.

I've held you so close,
it was hard for me to see.
I was being so selfish-
and you need more than me.

I'll love you forever,
this always true.
If we're meant to be-
than I'll wait for you.

"I can't get you out of my head- your love is all I think about."

Jenn, nicely done. This reminds me somewhat of a situation I've gone through. So, thus I can relate.

"I'm not ready for love,
not ready for your graces."

You spread out your feelings for us nicely. Splendidly done.

I especially like the four line stanzas and the amount of stanzas. Good choices there.

Sincerely,
Titus

i sort of have mixed feelings about this poem...the beginning is sad and wistful, but i like the hope at the end. well done.

maybe i'll catch fire, something nice to warm me. something pure to burn away the darkness, that hides inside my mind. -alkaline trio-

This poem is written straight out of this corner of my heart. It's very very personal to me; most of my poetry is, but yeah... this is right there.

Thank you for reading.

This was a great poem jenn. Its hard to not be selfish and make the decision to let someone go. You did a very strong thing...wonderful poem.

Jenn - this was soo cool - exactly how i felt when "Justin Michael" broke up with me, last year...I still care about him...but back in Feb, when he tryed to get back with me, i had to tell him "no" sometimes its funny how things turn out...Good luck

Have you ever heard that "No shirt, No shoes" rule? My question is...Why doesn't that rule include pants?

I hate my life sometimes.

Thanks for everyone's replies.

Why is it that we are at our most ingenius only when trying to destroy the things that keep us alive and thriving?
