The Town of Poets- Spring Session

Flowers bloom in springtime air
For all to smell and sneeze
Yet all attend the poet fair
The day is one to sieze!

With pencils sharp, erasers pink
Unused from writer's block
Their bottoms on the benches sink
From winter's large food stock.

The man with one bad wig yearound
Stood upon the stage
With his belly, laughing loud
He turned his title page.

"Welcome to the Poet Fair!"
He cried with morning breath.
And all who sat in front of him
Felt poetic death.

"Today, we write, and rhyme, and sing
To each and every poet
And to all, we hope to make you each
Into a Farley Mowatt!"

Confused, the poets asked each other
Who Farley Mowatt was
But not to Bad Wig Main-Thing Man
Fearing what his breath will cause.

"TODAY, YOU ALL WILL WRITE A POEM
DEPICTING MASTERPIECES
ORIGINALITY HERE, IS KEY," he screamed
As oxygen decreases...

And so, in stinky morning air
The poets wrote away
And night drew on, and write at 9
They heard the Wig Man say...

"PENCILS DOWN, MY STINKY FRIENDS
I HAVE A GIFT FOR YOU
COTTON BALLS TO SOAK UP SWEAT
AND BEESWAX CANDLES TOO!"

And with that, the poets stuck
The cotton up their noses
And in their ears, the candles went
To block out all the noises.

Happiness possessed the folk
Until the night turned dawn
And sleepy eyes could not surpress
A loud, obnoxious yawn.

They left their posts until the summer
Humming like those bugs
Hoping, one day, that Big-Wig man
Will get a better rug.

OHHHH MAN...it's been a long time since I wrote one of these. BTW, this is the third installment, which I wasn't going to write. But I have! MUAHAHA! But my meter isn't very good in some parts, but hey, I DON'T CARE!!! YAY! ^_^

Okie. Enjoy. ^_^

Hey...this was cute! Although I can sorta tell you've been poetically hibernating---I can't cricize you...because I'm in the same state!

Good job, SweetPea!
