I live in a small, rusty town
where the lights go out at eight
Where the days take forever to pass
And the clocks stop and make us wait

A place where wal~mart is the hang out
and Burger King holds Friday nights
Where the old talk about their golden days
And the young sit around basking in sunlight

Where the cars go by 1 at a time
and the paper holds no real news
Where the town sleeps soundly at night
I'm singing the small time blues

Exeryone makes mistake, learn from them and move on, because tomorrow we'll make more...

This is a nice little descriptive poem!  Though I can't say I'm familliar with the small town life, I still say you captured it well!  Keep up the great posts!

After Love comes Pain, then Love, Then Pain, then Love, then Pain..... does anyone else see a pattern here?  Oh well, can't say it's not worth it.

This rings so true. I used to live in such a small town. Sometimes I miss it.

lol  Feel special!  At least you have a Wal*Mart!  We don't even have that...  We used to have a Dairy Queen, but that turned into a bank, so now we have no hangout.  lol  I really liked this, though.  Small town life can really be quite depressing...     But it has it's good qualities, too.

The sad thing is, you have to get dressed up to go to Wal*Mart, because everyone is there....Always...

I want a city life

Hrm...try Baltimore..blech I get soo tired..but *whispers* I know what you are talking about in your poem, I've been to ms and the only hang out was Wal-Mart, it was a drag and plus my bf sucked:p but I believe life has great things in store for you, you will get out of there..look at me I was borne in a small town in pa, a mall 3 hrs away or more..and look at me now..don't despair lol Im soo close to rambling on about my horrid childhood!! hehe sorry but my moral of the story is there's a silver lining!!! good things come to those who wait..and I'm usually impatient in recent times..
