This is an assignment for my AP english class,we read the poem Abandoned Farmhouse by Ted kooser and had to re-word it to fit us.Any help would be greatly appricated
"Abandoned Farmhouse"
by Ted Kooser
He was a big man, says the size of his shoes
on a pile of broken dishes by the house;
a tall man too, says the length of the bed
in an upstairs room; and a good, God-fearing man,
says the Bible with a broken back
on the floor below the window, dusty with sun;
but not a man for farming, say the fields
cluttered with boulders and the leaky barn.

A woman lived with him, says the bedroom wall
papered with lilacs and the kitchen shelves
covered with oilcloth, and they had a child,
says the sandbox made from a tractor tire.
Money was scarce, say the jars of plum preserves
and canned tomatoes sealed in the cellar hole.
And the winters cold, say the rags in the window
frames.

It was lonely here, says the narrow country road.
Something went wrong, says the empty house
in the weed-choked yard. Stones in the fields
say he was not a farmer; the still-sealed jars
in the cellar say she left in a nervous haste.
And the child? Its toys are strewn in the yard
like branches after a storm - a rubber cow,
a rusty tractor with a broken plow,
a doll in overalls. Something went wrong, they say.

--------------------------------------------------------------

She was a heart broken girl,says the tear stained pillows strewn carelessly upon an un-made bed; A lonely girl too,says the pictures on the walls of friends from long ago;and a girl who misses her home,thats not under a blanket of snow sparkling in the sun.
But not a girl for Oklahoma,says her funny accaent and pasty white complexion

A boy broke her dreams says the torn up letters that little her floor and her thoughts surround the live she once knew and she expresses herself on paper says the notebooks of poems that fill her shelves.
Saving for her journey,says the frog bank crammed with coins and bills on the blue milk crate.
And her heart is cold,say the shades of blue eyeshadows on her dresser top.

She's a girl who despratly needs love,but no longer believes in it say the songs on her CDs. All she needed was love says the little hearts drawn effortlessly on her papers. Her accent says shes not Oklahoman,the money in her bank says she's got other plans. And the torn letters? She'll never pick them up,she wants the memories to live,forever,in her broken heart.
All she needed was love,they say

*for someone who's used to heartache,losing it all was just a matter of time*
Be kind,for everyone you meet is fighting a harder battle

Hmm...having not read the poem you have to re-word, I can't say much. I liked the storyline of this poem though. Fix a few typos and I think it would do well.
