Blossoming in my own self-image,
A map forms within my eyes
with no demanding or agenda
of it’s own, allowing me
to just simply roll my own way,
Chasing the waves

But here as I reach highs and lows,
Feeding into my hungry need
I find that my peaceful harbor
is facing a long and heavy storm
Tension builds in my heart,
Demanding that I shed a few tears
and leave my wings behind

You fearing sturdy man,
where my safety always stands
Do you think I might fly away
with your heart still in my hands?
Some of the chill pinches my soul,
but that doesn’t mean that
after all this time I want to let you go
No matter how far I roam
the unsheltered candylands
and mystic undertows,
The heart always knows
where to lead me when
it’s time to come home

This is just something I did rather quickly... (which is why I suppose it's not too good). I just wanted to get out some emotions. And well, there you have it.

Jaime

This is beautiful, Jaime!  I loved the metaphor, and the descriptions were stellar.  Very well done.  I enjoyed this muchos   Please post again soon..

Yoda does it again!

?I find that my peaceful harbor

While not one of your best, this one is deep, and has some beautiful words. Well done, my friend.

And 10 years later my arse decides to catch up on some favorite poets...LOL

So they call you Yoda now? Rrrrright...LOL
Well, "Yoda" I must say I enjoyed this alot...It was soothing to read, if that makes any sense. The last Stanza ended the write rather well too.

Great word choice!

I give a whole new meaning to the word 'sad.'
