Standing in my living room,
With innocent intentions,
And a picture of you in my head,
(Like always)
Then for a moment I faltered,
Lost track and lost direction,
A mistake an innocent agreement,
Followed by an innocent smile,
(If only I had known)

Now I find myself here,
Standing at ‘the edge of the deep green sea’,
With someone who isn’t you,
(When it should be)
Watching the sun set,
It’s not your hand in mine anymore,
And I am feeling all those things,
I used to feel with you,
(I know it is wrong, but I don’t care)

Then a moment I regret,
Two hearts shattered in a brief moment,
I can taste soft salty lips,
(And they aren’t yours)
I feel my necklace--with the star,
The one you gave me,
Burning into my cold skin,
Reminding me of what I am doing,
(Throwing away everything I know)

What am I doing here,
What have I done to us,
Where do I go from here,
(I don’t know anymore)
I thought I would cry first,
But his promises of love,
Were followed by tears,
And suddenly I find myself in OUR favorite song,
(And you aren’t here anymore…)

........"From The Edge Of The Deep Green Sea" is one of my boyfriend and my favorite songs. It is a cure song, BTW.Only Robert Smith could think of a concept as beautiful as that song, but now that I have lived it, it doesn't seem so beautiful.hope you enjoyed!!

Have never heard that song before, but you've written a really nice piece. Is this similar to the song lyrics?

This is beautiful... I could once really relate to these words.

From the edge of the deep green sea is a great song, too Good taste in music.

I look forward to seeing more.

Thanx guys for responding.  And no the words aren't similar to the song.  Just the deep green sea and kiss thing here....

And so we watch the sun come up
From the edge of the deep green sea.......................

I've never been so
Colourfully-see-through-head before
I've never been so
Wonderfully-me-you-want-some-more
And all I want is to keep it like this
You and me alone
A secret kiss
And don't go home
Don't go away
Don't let this end
Please stay...
Not just for today...

"Never never never never never let me go" she says
"Hold me like this for a hundred thousand million days"
But suddenly she slows
And looks down at my breaking face
"Why do you cry?
What did I say?"
"But it's just rain" I smile
Brushing my tears away...

I wish I could just stop
I know another moment will break my heart
Too many tears
Too many times
Too many years I've cried over you

How much more can we use it up?
Drink it dry?
Take this drug?
Looking for something forever gone
But something we will always want...

When I saw that you had written this and double posted in dark passions as well I decided to come here.  Hoping that this poem would be as beautiful as the one you wrote in there.  And I was not mistaken, not to mention that the cure is my favorite band as well.  This was exceptional.
