I Can Still Feel It

My body was trembling,
My thoughts full of fear.
No way to escape.
My darkened fate slowly appeared.
They both grabbed my arms,
Harrassed every inch of my heart.
Mind and body insecure,
I'd been torn apart.
Screaming and yelling
Made not a sound.
Kicking and hitting,
Knees fell to the ground.
How did this happen?
Why has myself been bared?
Why is it no ones around?
Why does no one even care?
They finally let go,
Every part of me was weak.
Shoack and tranquility overwhelm me,
I cant even speak.
"Dont say a word".
"It's all in good fun.
I scream "PLEASE LET ME GO!",
"shh..",they say, "No harm has been done".
Rise to my feet,
Slapped a smile on my face.
My friends arrive back,
To my new awakened disgrace.
Not a clue did they have,
Not one cry of pain.
My lips shut tightly from fear.
Even though its been a while,
I can still feel the pain...

You know, it absolutely frightens me at the volume of poetry I see on a topic such as this.  I can never tell the extent to which the truth is upheld in words such as those, but I give benefit of the doubt...

your poem terrified me, so it was successful.  Well Written, Well Done,

Oh my dear *huge hugs*
Michelle, it takes a lot of strength and courage to post a poem up about such a horrific event. Your poetry is always written with such enormous passion that the intensity of this one is through the roof.

I hope you find a haven beneath this terrible whirlwind.

Take care of yourself.

This poem had a lot of emotion sin it which I could feel myself. You're pretty brave to write about such a horrible topic. Keep your head up, and keep your pen to the pages.

Wow... I can't believe you had enough strength to write such an awsome emotion filled poem on such a terrible event, because I know if it was me I wouldn't have been able to.But no matter what anyone says what happpened wasn't you fault at all and you can't blame yourself. If you ever need someone to talk to I'm here because I've had to deal with this before. And this is another awsome poem you really have a special talent.

It must have been so difficult writing about this horrible experience, and then posting it here for all to see.  I give u so much credit for being able to do that.  Just from reading your work, I can tell that you are a very strong person, which is also applaudable.  What happened to you should never happen to anyone, and I sincerely hope that you tell someone who can do something about it.  I can't imagine the amount of emotional turmoil that must have gone through (and is still going through) your mind.  It takes a very courageous person to get through something like this, and I don't doubt that you will be able to.  Thank you for sharing this heartbreaking piece of poetry with us, and I'm hoping that everything will turn out alright with you.  Hang in there.

Posting this poem lifted a weight from my shoulders in hope that if there is someone reading this that has gone through a similar experience...sexual harassment, rape etc to come out and talk about it with someone whoever it may be. When i told my best friend what happened she admitted something horrible that happened to her that she never told anyone before. So i'm glad i shared with her my story because now she's shared one with me and we can benefit from eachother. Thank u all again..

Thank you for sharing this with us, Michele. We can never know how many people in this world has experienced the same thing, and is living everyday in fear and horror. If we all share our feelings, I'm sure they'll share theirs too.

Oh wow.  This brought tears to my eyes.  Anyone strong enough to really overcome this is a godess my eyes.  Much more strength than I could ever hope to hold.

Beautiful.  I hope you feel better.
