Everyday she goes to school,
with a smile upon her face.

She has lots of friends,
and gets along with everyone.

She always makes it to class on time,
and never gets bad grades.

She never gets in trouble,
and is always willing to help,
someone when they are at need.

She makes it look as thought,
she has a wonderful life.

But it is all an act,
her life is not wonderful,
in fact it is the pits.

For she dreads going home at 2:00 p.m..
cause she knows,
that as soon as she walks through the door,
she has to deal with her parents.

They make her wait on them hand and foot,
and if she does not do it when they say,
they ground her,
and tell her how she is nothing,
but a disappointment and does not deserve to live.

They tell her that they wish,
she was never born,
and that the only thing she is good for,
is waiting on them hand and foot.

She cries herself to sleep every night,
cause she knows,
they could care less about her.

This reminds me a lttle of the way my life is. A mask can destroy you, in the end you've just squashed yourself down. You become self-destructive at one point. Its not good, because you end up hurting the people who do care.

This was a really good poem, keep on writing.

I know people who are just like that..
It is sad, people need to see behind
the masks in order to know the person.
great poem though.

Someday we'll be free from the mistakes of our parents. The funny thing is, we'll go on to make mistakes of our own as parents. Hopefully though, we'll learn from their mistakes to help us be better. Thanks for sharing this.

The only thing that I fear is to die quietly.

This is very sad.  It angers me that so many have to live this way.

You should feel very lucky for having a mom that loves you so much

I loved this write.  Very well-done, and I look forward to seeing more...
