Grandpa, Down here,
Yea, it’s me, Tamma.
Yea, I know, I’ve changed,
It’s been 19 years.
I know you’ve been watching over
I can feel you’re presence
Sometymes, I swear,
If I turn my head quick,
You’d be there, watching me.
Tell me . . . Why does it rain
When I’m so happy . . .
When something important
Is happening?
Are they tears from heaven?
Prom night, Homecoming dances,
Graduation day, it rained . . .
I cried, it rained . . .
Were you crying, too?
The night I gave my life
To the Lord, it rained
Were you happy for me?
Grandpa, Down here . . .

Tuesday, December 11th, 2001, my Step-Grandfather died, 19 years ago, on Wendnesday, December 15th 1982 (two days after I was born) my actual Grandfather died...and my birthday is stuck, right dead in the middle.

If I held a star everytyme
he made me smile,I'd have the
evening sky in my palm, if
one was removed for every tear
he caused, I'd be emptyhanded.

Tamma, I like the title Tears from Heaven. What a beautiful thought, that your grandpa is letting you know he knows all about you. I'm sure it's him.

God bless America, my home sweet home.

This is beautiful, Tamma.  The idea is amazing, and beautiful enough to bring tears to my eyes.  That's a wonderful experience, and it proves that faith that you have.

Very well-written.  I loved this.

Ohh gosh this is the second poem that has helped crumble that wall I built around my heart..OMG!! that was amazing..honestly it was..and my greatest sympathy goes out to you..I know what it feels like, and I'm glad Im not the only who thinks when it rains that it's tears from heaven...
