Each ray of light covered by shadow,
For each tear that fell from our eyes.
One of those mysterious things,
No one could really accept inside.
The morning sun rose,
In everyones dismay.
But not the young girl,
Next to her bed, cold, she lays.
Screams echoed the hallway,
Tears burned their cheeks.
Their little girl didnt awake,
From her long peaceful sleep.
Not a sign of struggle,
Not one ounce of pain.
She died during the night,
Nothing ever to be the same.
An older sister i never had,
A best friend who took me under her wing.
I loved her like family,
Our friendship is an irreplacable thing.
So sudden, so cold,
So many things gone unsaid.
So many memories not reminisced,
So many thoughts in my head.
I never got to tell you,
How much you meant to me.
How much i cherished our time,
And how i appreciated all the things you've done for me.
I always thought tomorrow,
Yes, tomorrow would be the day.
I'd remind you i loved u as a friend,
And you mean more to me than words can say.
Tomorrow never came,
I waited too long.
Now your body lay still,
You can no longer hear the words i wished to say all along.
Im sorry with all my heart,
My procrastination i will never forgive.
I lost you without a moments notice,
But in my heart you will forever live.
I prayed last night and wished to you,
For you to know this is true.
You were a blessing in my life,
And i was so lucky to know you.
Now you lay peaceful,
You lay so still.
I hope you know i loved you,
And i always will.

A friend died yesterday at the age of 19 whom i've known my whole life. She was like an older sister to me and her brother who is my age found her dead in the morning. Our families are best friends and she will forever be remembered in my heart..i hope she knows that...Never wait till tomorrow to remind someone how much they mean to you...tomorrow may never come

What a great way to remember her. I have the feeling it was as good for her as it was for you. I hope you're doing okay. I'm thinking about you. Keep your head up.

Sincerely,

Beautiful... very beautiful. So honest and pure. This was a great poem and a wonderful expression of your feelings. I hope for the best for you and your friend's family.

I'm sure she knows. That kind of love and appreciation can't go unnoticed.

Oh, wow, this is sooo sad. I recently lost my doggie, after 12 years (i know tis just an animal) she was my best friend, I cried for a week after we lost her. So, yea, i know what hell it can be...sry for your loss

If I held a star everytyme
he made me smile,I'd have the
evening sky in my palm, if
one was removed for every tear
he caused, I'd be emptyhanded.

First of all, I want you to know how deeply sorry I am for the loss that you are suffering.  I know that no words can make you feel better, because only time can do that.  I hope that writing this poem somehow put things a little more at peace with you.  I can understand that you feel bad about not letting her know how much you loved her, but true love is understood through more than words, so I'm sure she knows.  I wish you the best in this obviously painful time, and I hope that your pain soon dwindles.

As for the poem, it was beautiful...

I've already told you how awful this situation truely is   *hugs*
And I agree with the part about telling ppl you love them all the time just so they know it. BUT I belive that they know it. And especially after they die...God takes care and tells them of how loved they really were. Nice, heartfelt poem here. I wish you the strength you need to get thru this.

Through the sadness of your poem you have a very important message about not waiting tell tomorrow to tell someone you love them. Becaise your right if you wait you might never get a chance.Try to get better but it's not easy at all and this is a very toughing poem I love it.

xShUgArHiGhx... I feel for your loss. Some years ago one of my closest friends died. While reading through the replies to your heartfelt poem, I noticed banburycross' signature - "Sometimes, the things that go unsaid are the only things worth hearing." I'm sure your friend knew how you felt, and I'm sure she felt the same about you. You'll always remember her, no-one can ever take the memory away from you.

"Poetry and Hums aren't things which you get, they're things which get you. And all you can do is to go where they can find you."

Wow, i could really feel the emotion in this write, excellent work. I can understand how it can be very hard and how you may feel difficult. But you were unaware that this would happen, so there is not use in being angry with yourself for not telling her how much she had done for you, etc. And judging by your poem... Im sure she already knew
