Ok well I know that my first posts are supposed to be comments on others poetry but I just have to get this out. 20 minutes ago I just sat down and wrote this out. No revisions so its not that good, but its what I feel. Feel free to respond with anything.

We Can be Lovers

I first met you; I was a pain
A weird, strange girl in 7th grade
Even then I knew, there was something about you
A gentleness that made me not afraid.

Maybe I was just looking for someone who cared
And you were the one who happened to be there
Regardless you were there and continued to be
The only hope in my dark despair

You never even guessed how I felt
How I loved you before you knew my name
And as we became closer and closer
Your words erased all of my shame

You made me feel like I was worth it
Whatever “it” is that makes us real
I loved talking to you and being with you
There was nothing that I had to conceal

Friends, yeah, we were the best
You seemed to understand all I felt
Except one feeling I hid well
Every time I saw you, you made me melt

I fell in love with my best friend
I tried not to, I desperately fought
But end in the end I couldn’t help it
You were all that I had ever sought

But that was never meant to be shared
Because it wasn’t meant to be
I knew I really loved you
But you had never loved me
Please write sumtin back and let me know how this makes you feel. or how I can make it better.
Thanks!

W E L C O M E T O P A S S I O N S ! ! ! ! !

Ahem.... well,
I believe I know how that goes.. falling in love with someone who really should be "just a friend".. that can surely make things a little wierd if he/she doesn't share the same passionate feelings for you... perhaps being "just friends" may be a good idea to preserve this special bond you have with this person.. besides.. the only difference between "just friends" and "Going out" are the respective names given. Doesn't change much anything else, now does it? You may be with him or her much longer than you anticipate.

Love is God. Love is war. Love is what your life is for.

When I read your beginning introduction, on how you knew you were supposed to reply to others before posting your own poem.....the first thing I thought besides "that's not true, you can post your own poem first", was that I liked you already haha. I then read the poem and came to the conclusion that I had all reason to have positive vibes about you. I think the poem was great. Truly great.
You write the kind of poetry that doesn't beat around the bush. Very out there and interesting nonetheless.
You kind of write in a way that I can just peek into the depths of your soul and not weave around in your mesh of symbolic curves and bends....it's just out there, for the understanding.
At least it was in this poem.

I liked it....very well done.

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

Somewhere out there a cow is laughing at you

wow...  that was really weird.  i've read a lot of poems on this site and that has never happened.  when i was in the seventh grade, i met my best friend and always wanted to be more than that.  we fell in love the summer after ninth and dated for a year and four months before she broke up with me and started dating one of my least favorite people.  this one hit kinda close to home, but it was a great piece of poetry.  it was very nice to read the line about other peoples work, it really bothers me that so many people post stuff and don't take the time to reply to the work of others.  i hate to echo dopeys sentiments again, but im stuck behind him replying to everyones work and hes always right. anyway, welcome to passions, its good to have you.

Sometimes, the things that go unsaid are the only things worth hearing.
