Seraphe

I came upon a child once, his hair a golden hue
His eyes were closed, his face upturned: a pure, angelic view.
I asked the boy, if he wouldn't mind, to share his thoughts with me.
He smiled wide, with bright blue eyes of wistful memories.
He looked at me, and then replied,"I'm looking for my wings,"
Then traced his finger in the sky, those gentle, feathered things.
I wondered what he planned to do, and asked him, simply,"Why?"
His face became a reverie, and said,"I want to fly."
I looked at him, expectantly, to find a child's face,
Yet all I saw were yearnings for a spirit full of grace.
He closed his eyes and spread his arms and ran about with joy
As I beheld an angel who became a little boy.
He ran to me, his face upturned, and opened up his hands
Within his palms, a feather lay, with white and silver bands.
He said,"For you, a gift from me, to remind you of my wings!"
I held it up, and thanked him for his gentle, feathered thing.
I turned to go, and walked away, then stopped and looking back,
I told him what I truely wished,

"I hope you find your wings..."

Dedicated to all the angels of the world...

My 100th poem...I FEEL SO OLD! lol. Naw. Not much to say about this, except I'm thinking of illustrating it, although it'll be quite hard, seeing as though watercolour isn't my forte. But things change, ne? Let me know what your favorite scene was, and I'll make a decision from that. ^_^

(I always wanted to write about wings...)

see told you i'd reply.
I am amazed.  This poem is simply one of my favorites from you so far.  Gosh...100.
Of course by the time I replied it's somewhere around 105 or something. Oh well, it's the thought that counts right?

Congrats on 100! Thats quite an accomplishment. Absolutly wonderful poem, as always. As for illustrating, I would think the part of the little boy handing you his feather would be quite pretty. Great write, looking forward to more soon!

*sigh* Simple breathtaking. I could see that little angel. The dedication at the end was very sweet. You should definitely try to illustrate this piece Leah. It's perfect for illustration. Besides, I've seen you draw and you'd be able to cope with water colours.

Congrats on the 100th post.
