Well, when I wrote this one I had a Bouncing Souls beat stuck in my head. This is intended to be a fast paced, yet happy punk song. This has to be a dream Life can’t be as it seems If this is my reality then I’m going to scream It can’t get any worse Just bring around the hearse Cause I won’t be the one to carry on this curse The curse of the modern man And I’ve done all I can Tried to escape fate but I been doomed since my life began The bliss of childhood I miss my childhood If I could go back now then you know I would In this life it’s do or die And I do enough just to get by Follow the world and live in the lie And then ask yourself why? Grew up at an early age Another day, another stage Missed out on all the live and was replaced by rage Couldn’t come into my own Worked my fingers to the bone If it’s this bad at fourteen, how’s it gonna be when I’m grown And if that wasn’t enough Boy, was high school rough The social politics down my throat they stuff Graduate and then move on Move out and remain strong Look around for your friends but most of them are gone In this life it’s do or die And I do enough just to get by Follow the world and live in the lie And then ask yourself why? We all have our little quirks But I felt like a jerk The day I left college and decided to start work Now I’m dead from nine to five One more worker bee in the hive I gotta check my pulse just to see if I’m still alive I still got a lot of years Still plagued by the same fears Driving down the road of life, I’m done trying to steer Throw my hands up and I let go Where I’ll end up, I don’t know But I’m going to live my life so that I have something to show I just want to live my life so that I have something to show In this life it’s do or die And I do enough just to get by Follow the world and live in the lie And then ask yourself why? wow that poem/song was awesome like i can totally relate to the whole poem/song like its wow we are usually drawn to the things we can relate to or understand well i find that and i reallly like the poem/song! as u go in life there will be ur hardships it is up to u if it makes u or breaks u. |

I could tell that this was a song because of the upbeat tempo within the rythm. I liked how it was truthful in the way it outlined life, yet it was still optimisitc and full of hope. I think this song was full of *power*!!  I liked it very much!   ~*Nikki*~ |
