I’ve got to hand it to the kings of fashion. Just a piece of clothes can cause a chain reaction Be a good consumer and shop till you drop Be a good conformist and join the flock Be a good man and buy your woman some jewels Be a good parent, shop for back to school To hell with being good I say screw the rules Hilfiger and Versace are just not me Don’t buy Polo or Gucci guess I’m just too cheap I wear what I wear only for me Don’t gotta buy what I see just cause it’s on TV Cause I won’t buy into your hypocrisy New shoes, new pants, with the shirt to match I need to free myself, become unattached From the belief that who you are is based on how you dress It’s just another thing in life that causes stress Yeah, you’re cool, the brands you wear are designer But they were made in the third world by some poor minor Sitting in a sweatshop making a quarter a day Working 15 hours for almost no pay Your clothes are made by a man in the Philippines He has no choice, his head’s in the guillotine Either work or die, starve or get by It don’t happen in the US cause this crap don’t fly So they keep the labor cheap and make the prices high Reebok and Nike, Don’t want to be just like Mikey Just Do It, say screw it, and stand right beside me I wear what I wear only for me Don’t gotta buy what I see just cause it’s on TV Cause I won’t buy into your hypocrisy "Your anger is a gift"-Rage Against The Machine |

Damn Job!  A a kick arse poem! Loved the line at the end "Just do it, say screw it.." (Figures, right? LOL) ANYWAY...I, Myseld, am a conformer...Can't help it...I like the trendy clothes..lol.. Not a big "Name brand" kinda person though...ANYWAY...(again) Awesome write. You rule. Loved the attitude/tone of this... Every now and then I like to stick my foot in my mouth... |
