The wall around my heart

Around my heart I built a wall
So that it would not brake,
To keep me safe from tears and pain
So my love no one could take.

I hold my heart so close to me
In my hands the peices lay,
The remains of my past
Of people who didn't stay.

I used to give my heart away
And I once gave it to you,
I guess you didn't care too much
Because out the door it flew.

That's the day I built my wall
So to myself I could be true,
I built my wall to help me out
And keep me away from people like you!

It Feels As If I've Always Been Someone On The Outside Looking In.

I at one time had a wall built around my heart....one by one a guy took it down and then decided once my heart was vulnerable to break it...so my advice is...dont let ur wall be taken down...its nice where it is...I enjoyed the poem, it obviously touched me on a personal level..i hear what ur saying!

aww...this is mildly depressing, other than that it's pretty damn good. tis a poem a lot of people can relate to on many different levels. keep writin and be happy..
