Give me a reason not to love you,
A reason not to care,
So I don’t have to watch your eyes,
And wish to stroke your hair.

Give me a reason to walk away,
And leave these thoughts behind,
A reason to drop my foolish dreams,
And salvage my shattered mind.

Give me a reason to hate you,
Though I s’pose that ploy would fail,
Who could hate an angel?
Such a thing’d never prevail.

Give me a reason to love you,
And I’ll love you til I die,
But should you tell me to go away,
Then this is my goodbye.

That's such good writing!  The subject is great and the flow is fantastic.  It reads very well and I'm jealous because I don't write that well!

IT'S A MUSHY LOVE POEM with CUTE LINES!  Someone give me medication, coz I think I'm hallucining... o.o;  I haven't seen an actual poem about love which actually had some cute lines in the longest time!  This poem had lines which totally rock!  *gives this poem major thumbs up*  Uh... I'm still in a gushy mood... dude, someone really should consider thwacking me upside the head with a mallet or something...

The first stanza was like... *whoa*  I didn't think that a mushy ewwy poem could actually make me pause for a second and suddenly think, "Wow... those are some powerful ending lines to a stanza..."  Sure, it started off on the wrong beat, but it twisted and was perfect. ^_^v  I thought the first stanza was the perfect way to begin... and the second stanza was overall perfect with zero qualms to speak of.  The third stanza died after the first line with the idea of failure and with the angel reference... x_X;  You had so much promise, too... and the last stanza ended with okay lines and a little thought-provoking, but none of them were nearly as memorable or thought-provoking as the lines before. ^_^

In a way, it's as broken hearted thoughts... start off positive, breaking down eventually... and then the idea of promise.  In that sense, it's a very effective emotional poem... in terms of memorableness (is that even a word? o.o;  *is too hyper to know for sure*), the lines mentioned above will stay in my mind... the others are okay for mood-setting, but somehow aren't as well-created or well-painted in my mind.

Of course... I like break-up poems more than love poems. ^_^;  Auto-bias.  In any case, this was a good poem!  Thank you for the read, and hope that things work out for ya. ^_^  Good-byes and I love yous are both extremely difficult to say... and yet at the end, you promise one or the other if the one you love gives their answer.  Nice conclusion... and thought-provoking, as noted earlier. ^_^  Once again, thanks for the read, and keep on posting. ^_^v  You write beautifully.

*mumbles incoherently* You write too well! Lol, you make mushy stuff sound awesome, you rock hun. Man if only those reasons were that simple, life would be like...so much easier... but you'll find your answers soon enough, trust me
