Ok, this is a political type poem/ lyrics. I was thinking about last week's tragedy and this came to mind. Not intended to offend anyone. Just an observation, and my opinion.

Going through each day leaves me with a sickness
This crap needs to end with some type of quickness
Propaganda being spread just like the plague
Don’t ask for answers the response will be vague
They don’t try to hide it, they lie to your face
Don’t even try to stand up, you’ll get put in your place
Government’s always right, but the got it all wrong
We been fighting with the feds for way too long
The prez is snorting {edit}
And the Senate’s a joke
Too busy stealing money from the simple folk
Fight Back
React
Cause each and every one of us is under attack

Right now we’re a nation of tragedy
Ever since the planes crashed in the NYC
Everybody is patriotic since the World Trade got hit
But a week before that no one gave a {edit}
Never saw all these flags flown high
Until the innocent had to die
But should this have happened, I don’t think so
Somehow the government had to know
It had to show
Four planes missing expect things to blow
Up in their face
A national disgrace
How can an airplane go missing without a trace
Four planes at once they should have been tipped off
But someone messed up and I’m really pissed off
We’re so smart ,we’re so intelligent
We don’t even know where our money is spent
It’s not on intelligence
We’re paying for negligence
Cause the events that occurred don’t make any sense
The whole world was interested in Gary Condit
Never even thought about the Pentagon till somebody bombed it
Now everyone’s screaming for war
We got to settle the score
At least this time we have something worth fighting for
I’m not saying don’t be mad
I’m not saying don’t be sad
Pray for the ones we lost and the lives they had
Go ahead and drop bombs on Osama Bin Laden
One for every lost soul so they won’t be forgotten
But don’t block out what they don’t want you to see
Protecting our country’s their responsibility
And they failed which makes them an enemy to me

Jon,
this is really good, but the______'s have got to go. It's the same as **** in the place of bad words.

I understand your anger
and yeah, all the flags, everyone on the band wagon....I mean it's great, but it should have been there all along. I love my country and always have, it's about time folks got it figured out.....now I won't look like an extremist anymore LOL

was promised by your face
the sound of your voice
painted on my memories
even if you're not with me
I'm with you"

I'm not jumping down your throat so don't take it that way. Alright?
Are you implying, or saying, that your country is now your enemy?
That's probably not a good thing to say about one's country at a time like this.
When tragedies occur, people get patriotic.  Look at WWII.  I think everyone involved was more or less "patriotic" in their own abstract or twisted ways.  There's always someone, in every culture, in every country, that gives a "____" even before innocent people are killed.  I understand about the bombing both ways, pro and con, and I don't want to give my views.  I'm not defending either side.

Jon, what can I say that would actually do this piece justice. Raw, uncut and straight from the heart. So basically it has scored massive brownie points with me.
I like what it represented, what it said and most of all the true, bigger message behind it. I personally believe the same thing. The government let everyone down and so take it from there...

It's going into the library for sure and I'll end up reading this everyday I like it that much. One of your better pieces. I hope to see more like this.

Keep sharing.

no matter what anyone feels about this situation, everyone has there own opinion and they are intitled to it, I think you did a great job with this poem. It was very honest and from the heart and I really feel you
