As hard of an issue this is to talk about for me i decided to write a short poem in dedication to all those that were lost...i lost a few people and know many who watched it happen right before their eyes. Im only 20 min away from the city and there is no way to describe the things i saw yestersay...Please everyone pray for my the friends and family who are lost or who have lost their lifes...

Yesterdays concerns,
Ride on today's tears.
People search for answers,
For why they are here.
Kids screaming past me,
One by one in the halls.
A girl was called down to the office,
Her dad, with the building did fall.
Eyeliner running,
Puffy red cheeks.
Hearts pounding frantically,
People falling to their knees.
Such destruction,
The world was coming to an end.
You felt so alone,
Couldnt find a single friend.
Family members lost,
Friends in admist the ashes.
Watch on tv,
As the whole thing recapses.
A nightmare coming to life,
Screams and cries etched in my brain.
Yesterday changed my life,
I will never be the same.

Very nice. It's weird to hear from people who it actually affected. A person at my work lost a good friend too. All of the families who lost loved ones will be in my prayers for a long time. Beautiful work.

Oh wow...this gave me goosebumps. The way you wrote it is so chilling because it's so raw. Wow...it's great.

Keep hoping that they can salvage whoever they can.

I must say, this is by far the fav of the dedication poems to Sept 11th's tragedy that I've read so far...It brought tears to my eyes. Watching it on T.V. was horrifying, I don't think I would have been able to stand and watch people cry and collapse before me at school and on the streets... Thankyou so much for the read, It was very nicely done. Very descriptive- gave off wonderful imagery.

United we stand, Divided we fall.
Never say die.

It is such a terrible tragedy.  Stay strong and my prayers are with you, your friends, the victims, and their families and friends.
