Sorry for not posting or replying in a while, but AOL was not letting me on this site for some reason...  I guess AOL dosen't like me....  Well anyway, this poem is somewhat darker than my past work, somewhat like "Wrong".  Hope you enjoy it!
************************************************

Just what do we hope to gain
always falling in and out of love
putting ourselves through these cycles of pain
Are we cursed by those above?

Yes, love is good love is great,
It's then that we feel it all.
Then does come the pain and hate,
After crawling up to love we take the fall.

We say we'll never do it again;
we tell ourselves it's not for us,
but then another walks into our lives as a friend.
We fall in love and our lives become a muss.

"Is my hair combed?  Do I smell alright?"
"How do I look?  Do you think it's nice?"

Our lives become filled with nothing but them,
their every fear and desire become ours.
But sooner or later it all ends,
and we hope for a time when again we can love for ourselves.

Just what do we hope to gain
always falling in and out of love
putting ourselves through these cycles of pain
Are we cursed by those above?

Love will come and love will go, but friends are forever (usually).

Rich~
Yes, love is hard.  Love hurts. blah blah blah. But really think back.  Back ... now ... to that time you were in love... Think about the wonderful feeling you got when you were holding that person, kissing them, loving them... now isn't it all worth it after all.  Because that which does not kill us can only make us stronger!  You live and you learn.  All of those cliches are true.  This poem is great.  But don't feel so bad about love.  It's a wonderful thing.  But it just hurts sometimes.  Good write I'm glad I got to read it.

If we're told we're bad, that's the only idea we'll ever have. Maybe if we are surrounded by beauty someday we will become what we see.

A very good question posed at the end. Mind you, some people are cursed for their entire life due to this little game called love so I say we hunt it down and teach it a lesson.

I did like the way you wrote this though. It asks a lot of questions and delves a little into the aspects of love.

Good job. Hope to see more.

I tend to ask myself the same questions you've asked here in your poem..so i can relate..but unfortunately i dont have the answers to them and i doubt many people, if any, do....Hope you find the answers to your questions one day tho   Until  then try and stay strong!

Loved how you closed the poem with the same stanza you started with. Nice write. Damn love.   Perhaps we shall add this to the Teen Chat "Hit List" aye?  HeHe, as always, thanks for the read. And Well done!

You wouldn't worry about what people thought about you if you knew how seldom they did.
