Summer Vacation (Summing up of what's happening in my life)

Right now, my brother is visiting my mother and I, from Ontario. I will soon be going back to Ontario with my brother, to go to university. I'll be leaving the place I used to live, and more importantly, leaving my mother. This is troubling me, despite the fact that life must go onward.

What days without a time to worry on
Can do to me and mine who have not time
To waste or simple lives to live. The dawn
Comes up, the easy life begins anew.

I thought it would be like times of old, when we,
In youth enjoyed our liesur’d time to spend
On everything or on nothing, to relax and see
The world as wrong or all as justly right.

But now I go for the last time, to live
In the eastern parts of our great land so free,
To go to school and learn the Word, to give
My life to God, to serve mankind in love.

But why do I these dark and cold things feel
When such great things beyond this time do lie
In still and peaceful waters that life does deal
And live inside so happily bright and clean?

It seems this world I’ll miss... This changing time
Of precious moments bright, with life to spend
And hearts to mend when sorrow once flew free
And joy the pain did fight away to fly

So free...

I hear you COMPLETELY frac.. I'm in college now and it's so tough to be away from everyone I know. Well done expressing this. I couldn't have done it better myself.

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

Nice poem. Sounds like things are pretty hectic for you, and I hope that everything works out. You can still keep in touch w/ your mother right?
