She was brought into this world on a Friday evening in May
A beautiful and healthy baby girl, with bright eyes
She grew up in a loving family, with caring friends
When she entered high school, she realized how hard life could be
She faced tough decisions that had an impact on her life
She realized that she didn't really want to grow up now
That she wished she could stay young forever, like Peter Pan
But you can't stay young forever, you have to grow up sometime
And she has made the best decisions she could possibly make
Yes, sometimes life has given her some hard choices to make
But she somehow has always made it through the storms
And she writes, of her emotions, of her life
Of all the decisions life has given her, and how's she's made it
She's come too far to stop now, Sweet 16, and still growing
One day she will have children of her own, and watch them grow
She will watch them make decisions that she once made, when she was young
She is growing up, and moving into this thing that they call life

I don't have an attitude problem You have a perception problem.

I'm a nobody, nobody is perfect, therefore I'm perfect.

I really like the story line to this poem.  The way we almost watched the girl grow... nicely done, Kris!  Congrats on 500!  Welcome to the senior member status   I enjoyed this one, and look forward to the next

angel-
Yes...there are certainly a lot of decisions
to be made in a life time...some easy,
   and some difficult.
   Wonderful job of expressing this.
   Congratulations on hitting 500!!

Congratulations of hitting 500
Yes, life is not easy at all
Wait till you have to provide for yourself
I can't imagine how tough life will be when I have to support a family.
But facing it and not giving up is what makes us who we are
Good luck in the future
Thanks for sharing and keep it up
