Visions

Falling into darkness amidst a world of gray
Tainted shadows blend with the air upon the graves
Ravens take to sky and follow empty souls
And fires fill the darkened world with smoke as black as coal.

Stifled breaths of windy air upon the lips of one
Breathing was a harsher thing since the fading of the sun
Cherry cheeks began to flood the faces of the men
And never had they thought that their life was at an end.

Songs and birds have taken flight to the whisper of the wind
Tickled ears and vacant eyes are filled with wonders of the sinned
Boney hands of chalky white reach out to take a life
And winter comes and chills the hearts and thrusts its stony knife.

Golden, garnished stars hang from the spaceless sky above
Children born are raging full of evil from no love
Sunlight banished from the fall of this forsaken universe
The night sings a frigid song, a song of bloody thurst.

Seams that bind the sky above have broken into threads
And falls upon the pillows that lay upon our beds
For all these visions are but softly laden dreams
Yet somehow in my darkened mind...that's not what it may seem...

=====
Ok, I know I said I'd go, but my muse came back...so I'm here for a while longer. This one just came out of nowhere, so here you are...#4! I believe there may be one last one to the series...until then, hola, I'm back! And to all those who've replied to the series and my other poems, thank you. You have no idea how encouraged I am by you all...Thank you.

-Leah

YAY!!!  More, more... keep em coming, Leah.  I am REALLY enjoying this series.  Your talent is so incredible.  I really enjoyed this one... the imagery was amazing, as it was with all the others in the series too   And I can't wait to read the finish... muses are great things, huh?     Beautiful work, yet again!

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

Somewhere out there a cow is laughing at you
