Lampost dreams I stare into the darkness Into the eyes of the moon Leave this place behind me And follow twilight's tune. Doors are only visions Windows are only dreams And sleep is fleeting in the night Or so that's what it seems. The shining stars guide the way To the emptiness above Ride the road to paradise To the land of love... And all these glowing lights String the road to destiny If only I could reach them... Reach eternity. Narnia is not far away Dreams are never far behind Walk the faded road unfearful And watch the river wind... Lampost dreams are everywhere Blinking lights are there Snowing stars and raining twilight Dream the dream if you dare. ===== This was going to be free-verse, but somehow it started rhyming...I thought about it being a song though...Anyways....I won't be posting for awhile...decided to stop awhile and focus on other things. You've done it again, Leah... that's how many since your muse has come back? Wow.. another incredible poem. I LOVED the personification in the beginning! I really liked the second stanza... dreams are visions, and windows are dreams.. that was creative. I really liked the lines: "The shining stars guide the way/To the emptiness above." VERY beautiful lines... The way you encorporated Narnia and the lampost in there... Those were my favorite books years ago. Nicely done, Leah! I REALLY enjoyed this. I think it works better rhyming.  I can't wait to see what else you have up your sleeve...--Marie You think yourself a failure, but perhaps the biggest loss is winning. |

I thought you did wonderfully on this one. I really liked it!  I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. |
