Autumn's Awakening

Whispers echo amidst the wind
Brushing past my ear in thoughtful twists and turns
Within a silent wood
Dreaming.
The dreams of green are filled in colour
With reds and golds against the roan
Of leaves.
And the wind...
The wind with its feather-breathless wings
Strokes the leaves
And blurs the colour
Among them.
The trees stand proud in their attire
Soon to be shed and lost
Forever beneath the snow.
And frost will replace the autumn gown
And silver will conquer all.
But that is far away still.
The moon awakens the mist
That covers the ground
And playing among the trees
They roam.
The leaves flow down in rivers and streams
To cover the barren bones of the earth
In vain.
The sound reminds me of the summer wind
Sweet and soft
Yet with a touch of flame
Lying across the pale, blue sky.
Indeed, Mother was showing off
When she created
The Autumn's Awakening...

Autumn's coming...   And so is more free-verse (rhyming gives me a headache)

This was very nicely done. You are adding color to our forums...literally. Well done.
