As my eyes empty out
I can see the view clearly
Without the blur of the stinging tears
Things are getting harder now
And I don’t know how to deal with my fears
How can I solve my problem
When I’m not even sure it’s there
Maybe I’m making too much of this
Or maybe I’m making too little of this scare
Nothing is as it used to be
But maybe it’s better in a sense
My world is coming down around me
And my troubles haven’t even had the chance to commence
I’m young, too young to be like this
Too young to feel like giving up
But I can’t just say ‘That’s the way it is’
And walk away with an empty cup
Is it stubbornness or hope that keeps me alive
That keeps me on this wild goose chase
For the fears of mine on which others thrive
And I shudder whenever I get the taste
Is it so much that I’m frightened or that I’m too real
The oblivion of childhood is gone
And now I’m suceptable to how I feel
And I see now that what I knew was wrong
People aren’t exactly how they seem
And the people who you call family may lie
I guess I was just living in a dream
Now I lay my head in my arms and cry
The reality of my life is crashing down
Quicker than the tears that fall from my bloodshot blue eyes
And I don’t want to be around
When everyone else pulls off their cruel disguise
Now I know the truth, and the truth hurts so much
That I cannot even begin to put it in words
Now I crave some lover’s gentle touch
So maybe I can forget the lies I’ve heard
Now more than ever I need to find love
I need to find someone who understands
So I get on my knees and pray to God above
To guide me to my love with his strong hand

Btw..I'm new here.

First off...
   Welcome to PIP!

This was an absolutely AMAZING first post! I relate SO much it's scary...It reminded me of my "Lost Crown" poem I recently posted. You expressed yourself perfectly. My fav lines were... "And I don’t want to be around
When everyone else pulls off their cruel disguise"
This is a write to be extremely proud of. I hope to see you posting more in the near future.

Thanks. I don't want to sound sappy or anything, but it does mean alot when people say nice things about anything I write. I'm sure you can all relate because you all write from the heart as well. I'm anxious to read all the many great writings on here, if only there were more hours in the day

Welcome to Passions!!

This first post is amazing. I could relate to almost every single line in this piece. I don't know what else to say because you have taken all words right out of mouth so thank you for sharing this. I will definitely be looking out for more of your poetry.

Welcome to Passions!

To ditto what everyone else said, I can really relate to this piece. It is quite hard to enter the real world when you have lived you life in a dream haze of childhood dreams. You have already stated the best solution though (IMO), just go to God and He'll help you through. Thanks for sharing, and I hope to see more of you around here soon!
