In an upside-down garden

I know I shouldn't say this,
but just because I'm lonely,
just because you haven't called for a few days,
just because I wasn't invited to the party,
just because you're never around,
doesn't mean that things couldn't be a lot worse.

Just because I'm chicken,
just because I'm too scared,
just because I wonder sometimes,
what it would be like to hold you close,
and kiss you ever so sweetly on your lips,
doesn't mean that things couldn't be a lot worse.

It could be that I couldn't have you as a friend,
or that maybe I'd do something wrong,
and you'd hate me forever.
Or someone close to me could die again,
so I'm not worried now,
I just think that things could be a lot worse.

I could not talk to you ever again,
I could not love the man of my dreams,
you could not return the love I send,
I could screw things up royally,  and things would be bizarre,
but untill that happens,
I'll continue to say that things could be a lot worse.

I'm thankful for what i do have w/ Justin, and that's why I don't push for more every day.

This was really good.  It had alot of emotion in it, and it made me stop and think the same thing about someone in my life.  Thanks so much for sharing....

This was a very good poem, Allysa.  Awesome message... things can always be worse than they are.  Nicely done.  This is very well written... I enjoyed this.

Thanks ya all.  I can't think of anything else to say except that I sort of kind of figured out why I wasn't invited.  I guess it was a family party or something, but I don't think his mom would've minded if I was there.  She's so cool.  i called yesterday to tell him happy birthday and he was busy doing something w/ his cousins, so I was like, well, I just wanted to tell him happy birthday, so could you please tell him happy birthday for me? and she was like Justin, alyssa says happy birthday honey, well, she didn't say the honey part, I added that in.  And Janet, his mom, sat there and talked to me for a few minutes because Justin couldn't.  It was all good though.

Great job here. I liked this one Allysa. Sounds rough but you can pull through.
